Notes: My friend Acey told me about his buddy Bobby who used to work for the MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) in New York City— Bobby could take us on a subway tunnel crawling adventure if I was up for it. Is it illegal? Yes. Is it dangerous? Definitely. Was I interested? Oh, absolutely. I’ve been in the subway tunnels a few times now, shooting photos, checking out decades-old graffiti, and exploring abandoned train stations beneath the Big Apple— it’s a very intense experience. My favorite part is shooting the trains rolling by, full of people who have absolutely no idea that we are lurking just a few feet away in the darkness... welcome to the real underground scene.
