Notes:I spend a great deal of my time traveling in long metal tubes of different varieties with my bandmates— planes, trains, ships, and (of course) vans and tour buses. When you live on the road, the tour bus is your only home— people who have never lived on a tour bus tend imagine all sorts of rock-n-roll debauchery and wild parties going down. When we were much younger, there was certainly some of that, but these days our bus is very low-key. In fact, with the exception of the occasional wife or girlfriend, there’s really never anyone on our bus except our band and a crew member or two— and we like it that way. Someone is usually napping at any given point of the day (or in my case, nerding out and reading books)— at our age, we place peace and quiet at a premium. This picture of the outside of our bus mirrors what it’s like inside the vast majority of the time— quiet and still.
